Boycott any pet store that sells
puppies.
Clarify with pet store employees and
managers that they don’t get dogs from a local
shelter or humane society and walk away. Simply
do not purchase from the store. |
 |
Spread the word about puppy mills.
It’s a lot easier that it seems, and
the more people that know, the more voices to spread
the word. |
 |
Support organizations that fight to
end puppy mills.
Donate to these organizations, wear
their t-shirts or drink from their coffee mugs at
work (great conversation starters). Step up and
become a part of an organization that helps fight
mills. All organizations are looking for
volunteers, and the jobs are endless.

Adopt from a local shelter or humane
society.
Many states already have huge pet
overpopulations and have to put thousands of
unwanted animals to sleep each year. There are a
huge variety of dogs available at local shelters and
humane societies, and most usually screen their dogs
for behavioral problems before giving them the “ok”
to be adopted out. |
 |
Volunteer at a local shelter or humane society.
Even for an hour one day a week. They can
really use your help! |
