About
Puppy Mill Protest
Foundation
Puppy Mill Protest
began in July 2004 as a simple idea to help stop puppy
mills. The founder learned about puppy mills watching an
animal rescue show on television, which prompted a huge
interest in the topic and much research. Rachel began
working with other anti-puppy mill organizations and
liked the idea of doing something to educate the public.
Since Rachel was unable to donate much time or money and
could not foster any dogs, she figured she would put her
degree in advertising and marketing to good use.
Puppy Mill Protest became a way for Rachel, and
others, to educate others about puppy mills and how to
help stop them, without being tied to one specific "end
puppy mills" organization. Puppy Mill Protest is
an organization for people and organizations alike, with
information, protest materials and educational materials
readily available to anyone with a computer.
Purpose & Goals
The purpose of Puppy Mill Protest is
to educate the public about the horrors of puppy mills
and puppy-carrying pet stores. By doing this, Puppy
Mill Protest hopes to help stop puppy mills and the
existence of mill-supporting stores and organizations.
Members of the group do everything from handing out
flyers at local events to picketing in front of pet
stores to simply striking up a conversation about puppy
mills with strangers. Puppy Mill Protest strives
to educate the public about the horrors of puppy mills
and what can be done to help end them forever.
